I was just wondering if anyone knows of any IP management software that helps maintain IP documents? I help in maintaining a network that 2 companies share the hardware, each company has their own IT staff to service the server farm. I need to maintain an IP list for each of these depts, but they should see the others IP addressing. Uptil now, I have used MS word to document and Solarwinds to scan the IP ranges, this is starting to become cumbersome. Any ideas?
thanks

The attempts I have seen so far for automation tend to be inaccurate so you spend just as much time verifing as you would building from scratch. Flukes Network Inspector software now called Optiview Console is the best attempt I have seen so far (still not 100% accurate). Has some really cool features like layer 2 traceroute that is invaluable. Not cheap stuff but if you want to get away from manually documenting, its gonna take some money from what I have seen.
