Anyone out there using IP for long distance? If so, how do you connect to the provider? I'm assuming a DS1 card is not used.

I am using IP for local and LD. I have a provider that is supplying an Adtran box to convert a standard T-1 to SIP and then sending it over our regular internet lines. It works well. I have only had 1 problem with it, and it was a modem problem. We are upgrading to CM4.0 soon, and I will convert that connection to straight SIP, using the SES server from Avaya. We put the box in to make sure that we wouldn't have any latency issues with our provider. It can save you a lot of money, but our reason for doing it was for disaster recovery purposes. It gives me another method to get outbound calls out of the building, and a way to move incoming calls should the need arise. It is the wave of the future...
