IP Information

Why am I not getting the IP addresses with the following
"ipconfig/all" command, Can someone help please?

Search the drive C to see if you have a batch file named ipconfig.bat

If you do, rename it to ipconfig.tmp

If you don't, disregard this message.

You need a space in between:
ipconfig /all

Thanks to both for the reply .
Rename from .bat to .tmp worked, space before / is irrelavant.
DTracy, any idea how this would of happend?

I can't tell you exactly why someone would have created that particular batch file. However, it appears as though someone wanted to repeatedly flush the dns cache, and rather than type ipconfig /flushdns over and over, they simply created the batch file to do the job. Then they only had to type ipconfig to get that job done. Unfortunately, they chose the wrong name for their flushing file and caused another person problems. It should have been named something like flush.bat.

Best as I can think of at the time.

Just to put you straight....

No space is required between the ipconfig and /all. You can put a space in there if you want but it is not required.
