Sorry I don't the the equiptment to test this out..need advice!

I have two dhcps servers on our primary vlan (50/50 split for addresses). We have 10 other vlans that have ip helpers addresses pointing to the primary DHCP in the primary vlan.

I need each server to assign ip addresses in the event the other fails. Would it be possable to give the ip helper command a broadcast address for the primary vlan?

I.e.
10.0.23.x network's ip helper would be 10.0.1.255 which would be heard by 10.0.1.2 and 10.0.1.3.

??? Am I crazy ???

I'm not sure if it can be done. However, it seems to me that relaying the bootp request into broadcast isn't such a good idea.

You can however, configure multiple ip helper-addresses on each VLAN (except the VLAN on which the DHCP servers reside) for every DHCP server you have.

Ex.
interface VLAN5
ip address 10.10.1.254 255.255.0.0
ip helper-address 10.0.1.2
ip helper-address 10.0.1.3
