Morning,

I have a number of IP device only 5340's that I want to make resilient to another site, however the option for secondary element is greyed out, they are used for ACD log in phones. So my question is, do I need to make them full and therefore use a licence for each one just to enable resiliency?

Need more details:-

* software version
* system type
* presuming 3300s are the system clustered?

There are resiliency guidelines on MoL which are extremely detailled.

The software version is important as different licences are used dependant on the version.

Was able to create a IP only device on our system ( MCD 6 ) and able to assign a secondary controller. So the answer to your question is no they do not and the new question is why can you not add a secondary element.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I think it could be that I've made it a local only number......d'oh....but is there a way to untick the local only part without deleting it and readding it as I have quite a few?

From the MCD Help: You cannot change a local-only directory number nor can you reassign a local-only number as a cluster dialable number. You must delete the associated device or group feature from the System Administration Tool form (for example, Multiline IP Sets form) and then add it back into the database to modify the directory number.

thanks all for your help, ended up doing it long hand, about 30 users, bit of a ball ache I have to say but hey done now
