NO

I have a costumer with IP DECT system and some Siemens Gigaset handsets and some Avaya 3720 handsets.
The Avaya sets are woring fine, but the Gigaset handsets are not roaming from one base to another.
Is there any way to get this to work?

No. The Gigaset doesn't support roaming on Avaya DECT.

Don't know that for sure Cor.

We have registered some Gigaset PRO's on the Avaya dect, but never heard any issues.

But as mentioned, these are Gigaset PRO series.. Non PRO gigasets do not support roaming at all, not even on Gigaset dect..

On DECT R4 no GigaSet DECT phone support roaming, not even the PRO version.
I have tested them all.

Indeed no roaming.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thank you guys. Now I can sell some handsets... [bigsmile]

Am I wrong? Dect R3 seems to roam with Siemens Gigaset Pro handsets...

Yes but not R4

I heard that the original unbranded Ascom DECT R4 works well with third party phones. Seems to be another 'trick' from Avaya...

The missing feature on those cheeper Gigaset's is 'CAP'. Not to be confused with 'GAP'.
CAP support is neede on the portable to be able to use roaming and handover.
Some Gigaset's support it, but it's usually not mentioned in the product describtion...
