Hello
I am having a problem with my windows 2000 computer which is causing me to want to break it - please help me!!
The problem occurs when I want to use the network it is connected to. I obtain licences through flexlm for the software that I run. After about five minutes of use an error message appears - ip conflict with ip address ...
network systems may be disrupted as as result -
Ok I thought I know nothing about IP addresses I will call IT - who advised me that I would need to change the IP address and they informed me that this should happen automatically when I log in again. So off went the machine - checked my ip address - it was still the same. The settings were set to automatic so I carried on everything was fine for about twenty minutes. This has been happening for about 6 months now - the reply from our IT department is that this is impossible, it shouldn't be happening! - great I thought but it still does.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try from my machine - or what the problem is?
Thanks

It may have hit every branch on its way out of the ugly tree, but hey! It works. (but don't quote me on that)
