I want to ask guys if anyone have a noise problem with Ip agent v3, everyone is reporting this issue, they can hear a background noise while they are talking
when they stop to talk they hear the noise louder
i already point some of the to a different c-lan but stills same problem
no packets dropped at all
i dont know what else to check
anyone?

I have s8700 v11 and ip agent v3.0.8.02

Are the IP agents using VoIP for the talk path, or are they "telecommuter" mode?

I think there is a way to turn off the transmitting of the "silence".

Do a disp ip-codec-set x see if you have silence suppression set to Y?

Just guessing here....

ok is set to N

but i have a lot, i know i use g.711MU but i dont know wich of this 7 codects should change to Y.......

1 G.711MU
2 G.729
3 G.711MU
4 G.711MU
5 G.711MU
6 G.711MU
7 G.711MU

Again just guessing here, but I'd assume that it uses the code sets in order depending on what resources it has. We only have one codeset for each region. because this is a lan , Id assume that its using 711, and I'd try switching just the first one. 729 eats up the dsp resources, and unless you have ip agents over the wan, id probably take that entry out. I have no idea why they'd put more than one codec in there.

that is because we have 2 regions and we need g.729
will keep checking the software options and keep looking
thanks

We also have two network regions, and two ip-codec-sets.

Network region 1 - code set 1, .711
network region 2 - code set 2, .729

Good luck, I'm sure it has something to do with the codec one way or the other.
