We installed IP agent version 3 licenses (16) about 4 years ago and due to our home agent growth we had to purchase more licenses (6) but they are version 6. We were told that if we keep version 3 IP agent software on the desktop, version 6 licences are compatible. This is not the case. Version 3 desktop software will not take a version 6 license, and version 6 desktop software will not take a version 3 license. We can't divide our home agents between version 3 and version 6 and need the licenses to be compatible.
Has anyone else run into this problem and is there a fix? Our Avaya business partner cannot find a solution, other than upgrading our version 3 licenses forversion 6 at $95 each.
