I am trying to configure SER2/1 with 123.4.567.8 255.255.255.224 and get the following message "123.4.567.0 overlaps with Fastethernet0/0".

If I change the subnet mask for SER2/1 to 255.255.255.240, same result. If I change the last octet to .248, I get "Bad Mask /29 for 123.4.567.8".

Can anyone give me some guidance?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Post the addresses and masks of both interfaces...you can hide the first three octets for security.
