This is something I consider to be a tricky situation. Soon I will be leaving for school, and I will be leaving my Windows 2000 Server PC at home on the network so I can have a server outside of my school's firewall. But here is the problem:
All the PCs in my house are connected into a router which is used to route an internet connection through a cable modem. Once I am at school, I'll have no way of obtaining the Internet IP address of the router without having someone in the house physically check the IP address by logging into the router or by going to Normally the IP doesn't change too often, but regardless, it does change from time to time. I was wondering if there is anyway that the server can obtain the WAN IP address somehow and email it to my email address. Is this possible?
