I have a bit of a problem, my ip address is identical to my dafault gateway. How do i correct this problem please?
Im running winxp pro and i am on dialup. Please some answer i know there is a solution but i have search for hours to find it.

It's possible that this is correct. Are you receiving your network parameters via DHCP or something from the ISP?

Surfinbox.com Business Internet Services - National Dialup, DSL, T-1 and more.

Thank you for answer, i believe yes im recieving my network parameters via DHCP from my ISP.

This is normal behavior. In my experience, Windows DUN does this, but routing should still be working. Are you having any problems with browsing the Internet?

Stupid answer, but you don't happen to have this statically assigned or put in as a static address as an alternate configuration?

this is normal behavior from what I remember. there really isn't a default gateway parameter in ipcp/ppp anyway - I think this is just windows throwing -something- in that field.

As long as you ip doesn't give you an Ip address in the form 192.168.0.x it's not a problem with most setups. You ISP is forbidden for giving out addresses in this form btw.
