Hi all!
Recently I found out that someone has either hacked my e-mail account or my ip address and some of my files from my hard disk are being compromised.
This came to light when a friend of mine claimed that she received a mail from my hotmail account which had my personal files attached to it. I didnt send her any mail neither did i send any files or attachments...even the message that was enclosed in the mail was not normally the way i write my mails..
is it possible that someone can get an access to my personal files either through the mail account or through the ip adress of my computer
Normally my pc is switched on all day n i have comcast cable...also is it possible that i can get a detail history of how n when someone tried to access my PC and their ip addresses...
please respond ASAP as it is an intrusion into my personal data...
thanks in advance

you were attack by a spammer that's what they do....so pls read about spam on how to protect ur pc and ur resources...i suggest that you reformat first your hdisk...and before you restore ur files install first a good antivirus that will scan all ur files to verify that there's no worm anymore....change ur hotmail account..use gmail instead it's 1GB capacity...people from microsoft or any technical suppot could open any hotmail account they have the software tool to open all hotmail acount....

believe me i worked as a technical support from msn....

sounds like the standard run of the mil virus you have.

it infects your computer and grabs files and mails them to people in your contact list - nothing new, nothing rocket science.

get yourself an up to date antivirus program, make sure the definitions are new and do a full scan.

It doesnt make sense for somebody to spend all this time to hack into your mail account or personal computer, just to mail your stuff to your contacts now would it?

You might also want to have a good firewall added (Zone Alarm Personal is a good choice, and it's free) as well as a adware/spyware removal tool (spybot and adaware are good). The most important thing is to keep your definations up to date and run a virus scan and spyware scan at least once a week. This is especially true if you have cable since your ip address won't change often.
