Have a new ip500v2 which i downgraded to r8.0 since it came with release 9 and i had an essential r8 lic.

After downgrade i cannot seem to be able to access it even though it is visible when searched for and set to basic edn. I tried login:Administrator; and pwd: Administrator and also password but to no avail.

I recreated sd using r8 bin files but still cannot access it!

Really need to use this specific sd as license matches its FK.

Am I missing something?

You need to reset the security settings with the serial cable.
Only then you are able to access it again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Am I missing something?
Plenty
there was no need to downgrade the SD card in the 1st place, the essential edition license is R8+, meaning anything R8 & upwards (that was because Avaya called additional Embedded Vm Ports Essential edition licenses as well)

I suggest you try erasing the security settings using the serial port.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Thank you for the help.

I made a mistake and am very pressed for time. Just needed some help that's all.
