Hi Guys,

I have been given the task of upgrading an Application Server from version 8.1 to 9.0.

The issue I am having is - all the documentation I read from the Avaya knowledge base tells me how to upgrade Applications Server on a physical machine using a bootable USB or DVD however, I cannot find any documentation on how to upgrade the Applications server if it is a virtual machine. Since its a virtual machine I cannot use a bootable USB or DVD. Can anyone help or link me to a document explaining the process??

Thanks so much.

Chris

You can mount the ISO on the virtual machine and boot it up that way.

& as it is a virtual machine it would be a good idea to make a copy first

I am not paranoid they ARE al out to get me

I was told to use the .ova file and upload it to the virtual using the web brower port 7070 or 7071 and to take a backup from there also. Is there any step by step document online?

There are two ways.

Upload ISO (not OVA) in WebManagement and start upgrade from there.

Boot the virtual Server from ISO and be sure to chose to update and not to do a fresh install.

The first option works good if you don't change the release (9.0.1 > 9.0.3), the second option works better if you change the version.

In any case you should not forget to create backups.

Can anyone provide Manager 8 or higher :)
Thanks
Regards
Sundesa
