I am onsite with a dead ip 500 pcs6. The replacement my boss got is a IP500 V2 so the license card doesn’t match up. We are looking for any ideas about what to do today to get this system back up and running. It has a full pri card licenses and a standard to pro and probably some extra VM ports. Is there any way to get them to enable, at least until next week, so we can get this system back up and running? Thanks for any advice!

Bradley,

Assuming the old unit is a IP500v1 and the new unit is an IP500v2 R9.1 and you have a SD Card, you will be required to do a Feature Key swap, which requires a Business partner to do through Avaya. This will move the licenses you currently have on the credit card size feature key and reissue the same licenses on the new SD card feature key. Depending on your current software release of the existing config, will determine how much reprogramming you will need to do. If you have voicemail pro on a separate server, that will need to be upgraded as well to matching software levels of the IP500v2.

No need to that for now.
Open the v2 and remove the power supply and put that in the v1.
Not the way it should be but you will get the customer up and running today.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Changing the power supply worked like a champ...I was thinking about it but wasn't sure if they matched up. Perfect! Thanks for the ideas!!

but I would still do a license swap and go with the v2 box
