ip 400 dss not lighting 1

Hi.
i have a ip400 with a 4412 phone that has a 4450 dss hooked up to it. How do I get the appearances on the 4450 to light up like a dss. the only thing i see on the stations programmed onto the 4450 are abbreviated dial with the ext #"s
yes I do have a pwr supply inline with the 12,50.

Ahh, thanks knew it was something simple. Now next problem, it appears my 4450 is not lighting at all. I have the power supply infront of the 4412. Do i have to tell the system that it has a 4450 hooked to it? the buttons work as in when pushed they call the ext, just no lights at all

upon further testing, when the dss is programmed as user then the ext # it does nothing, when programmed as dial it does call it when pressed. Still no lights.

The feature is User and then use the drop down to choose which user to show. You program the buttons individually.

Ok, under the operators digital telephony tab i go down to button 25, 1st of dss. under action i use, user then in the telephone # tab i put in the ext, say 401. when i send this. the button then does nothing????

question, does the console phone have to be in the first logical digital port??

What firmware version do you have and no... slot 1 port 1 is a merlin thing.

Be sure to use the dropdown to select the user in the Action Data field.

Since you said "digital telephony" it makes me think you have version 2.1 and below. If that is the case then you must type the user name exactly as is it built in quotes. "BruceWayne
