I need to know if there is an IP2050 version that can be used successfully on a Windows VISTA machine, without having to purchase and/or install an IP Softphone Server. I have an account that has exhuasted their 30-day trial on the 2050 ver 3.x. I suggested using the IP 2050 1.4 on a Windows XP machine, but that was rejected.

Thanks, K K

You need version 2 build 264 which is compatible to Vista.
Just need to set audio quality to "1" in the softphone settings.

In the past, the IP2050 client was available on the BCM. Where can I download a copy of this version?

According to licencing terms, you need to purchase one copy for each installation.

To get an initial copy of 2050v2, you need to purchase the CD. Only the upgrade versions are posted on
For 2050v3, the full install file is posted on But - as you found it - it only runs for 30 days without having the separate activation licence purchased/installed.

The answers are correct in that version 2 was only obtainable for customers who were using it and had paid for it. I have a Version 2 copy and also updated it with the upgrade 264 release that was released on the Nortel web site.

The version wroks fine for BCM and CS1000 etc on Windows 2000, XP and Vista.

All the best
