I have a BCM 3.5 server and I am using the VOIP with i2004 phones and they work. I tried using a 2050 on my lap top and it sychs but I get no audio. I can make calls but I hear nothing and they cant hear me.

NO. I TRIED USING MY LAP TOP AT ANOTHER LOCATION AND IT WORKED. THEN WENT TO ANOTHER SITE AND NO AUDIO. DO YOU NEED TO MAKE CHANGES WHEN GOING FROM SITE TO SITE?

I would also recommend using the USB headset, but question do you have other IP sets working at the location your laptop doesnt work at?

I think you have a firewall issue.

Have you got other IP phones working at this site like demusrasts asked?

Marshall

No. This is a new site and you are right about the firewall issue. The one site does not have a firewall but the other site does. What must I do to have it work with the firewall?

Signaling between the IP telephones and the Business Communications Manager uses Business Communications Manager port 7000. However, voice packets are exchanged using the default RTP ports 28000 through 28255 at the Business Communications Manager, and ports 51000 through 51200 at the IP telephones. If these ports are blocked by the firewall or NAT, you will experience one-way or no-way speech paths.
