TTUK has great pleasure in inviting all Making an Impression Forum members to our Grand Summer Beery Meet in central London on Saturday 22nd July.

We'd be particularly pleased to see any TT members who are visiting the UK. Any UK members who aren't already TTUK members will, of course, be very welcome too.

Partners are also invited, as well as other family members (over 18 only). No pets, I'm afraid - but working ferrets are permitted if their owner is wearing a flat cap and can guarentee their behaviour.

Details can be found in the top post in thread1091-1239933 - I'm keeping that updated with venue and attendee details, so you can ignore the rest of the waffle.

So far it's looking like a turnout of around 20.

Last year was a really good do and most of the attendees are back again this year.

If you can make it - me'd love to see you there!

Thanks rosieb for extending the invitation. I hope that you have a great turnout, and an even better time.

Bloody London??? Are you bloody mad???
Have a great time mates.

Well, we considered the Greek Islands, Fiji, Sydney and the Isle of Mull. But somehow they just didn't seem to work... [smile]

And thanks - we will have a good time, we're good at that, we practice a lot at the minor Beery Meets (tough, but it has to be done).

Wow, who ARE you people?? I can barely do Orlando once or twice a year! But have fun!

If more than 1 goose are geese, why aren't more than 1 moose meese??

If my passport hadn't expired nearly ten years ago, I'd have half a mind to surprise you folks.

As it is, I just have half a mind. :)

Hope your beery meet is as cool as GeekFest2005 was - hell, the waitress went home before we did~!

Tim

Hey, if you decide to meet in Duluth (Minnesota, USA) some time, let me know. That's about as "travelled" as I get. I wouldn't suggest in the winter, however....

Hi,
Why not Duluth in winter..You wouldn't want to miss the thrill of having you car slide down a hill and onto Lake Superior [wink]

Meetings happen because someone says, "hey, let's get together". If you'd like to gauge the interest of having a meeting in your area, then I invite you, or anybody, to start a thread to ask who would be interested in having a get together in whatever area.

There is only one thing that you absolutely, without question, must keep in mind. You cannot call the meeting a "Berry Meet" unless you're prepared to pay royalites.

I think Berry Meet is OK, it's the other that's subject to royalties ;-P

Turk, are you suggesting we of the "red-states" suffer from "son" burn?

Grins all around, folks! :)

No, we have also trademarked "Berry Meet" - we had one one of them. OK it was a smelling pistake, but the beer still flowed.

We have our "formal Meets", but the general rule of thumb is: if anyone from TT is visiting London and fancies a drink, we'll hold an impromptu meet. Outside London 'tis harder to get a quorum, but you'll probably get a few of attendees. We'll hold a Meet given any excuse!!! Or none!

Good to know, anyone dropping into Dublin, we'll see if an impromptu arrangement can't be acommodated. Apologies for any inconveniences.

Anyone know where you can check out trademarks on line?

I was just ribbing our UK friends at the phrase "Beery Meet". If and when time permits, I'll see if I can find the thread when that first appeared.

Woo hoo! I also occasionally get to Dublin - usually with another TT miscreant. Mr R works in Ireland a few days each month, I get to go when he needs someone to run around configuring machines (usual invite is "come over for a bit of shopping, oh and while you're here, come and meet the guys - and btw, could you just...")

Hmm, looks like we could round up an International Dublin BM.

CC I believe the phrase was originally coined by Zel in Oct 2003, but the original thread is now gone (fortunately, so is the hangover). The first, and only, Berry Meet (organised by TTUK's favourite dyslexic) was Dec the same year. We're happy to license the term - but we feel that an authorised representative needs to be present to ensure authenticity. [smile]
