I don't know if this post belongs here or in a forum about excel. Right now I've got an access DB that does some "slicing and dicing" on some data that comes from a txt file. Later we decided that we want to output to an excel file. Would you have the user open up access and push a button etc. to do this or is there some way to have an excel macro bring up an "invisible" instance of access?

Either would work. Is this data that they have to enter some parameters to determine what recordset to export?

When in Excel, menu Data -> External data ->

Hope This Helps, PH.

They would choose the csv to upload and where they want to save the output. Thats it. All the data manipulation is the same every time.
