I am running solaris 8 10/01 on sun blade 100, everytime when I boot I get this message:

"[ID 926*** kern.warning] WARNING: invalid vector intr: number 0x7de, pil 0x0"

This all started after I installed all recommended solariss 8 patches from cdrom. I have also applied some patches from sunsolve site. This message appears only after boot from shutdown machine. Subsequent init 6 does not give this message.

Can any one please help me with this??

Hi
I am running 108528-13 kernel version.
I have checked patch 108528-14 which is not installed.
Should I go ahead and install the 108528-14 patch ?.

Thank you for the help.
Regards
Anita

Hi,

At sunsolve I can only find 108528-15, do you reckon it will solve the problem.

That patch **-15 is very lengthy and my connection sometimes break.

Is there any other alternative??? like removing patch which is creating the problem.

Don't remove the patch 108528-**, because its a kernel patch. Our patch-level is not so bad.
Can you please check the Prom level:

While the OS is running the following command may be used to
determine the current system firmware revisions;

/usr/sbin/prtconf -V
or
/usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiag -v | grep OBP

Desktop Standalone Flash PROM Update: OBP_4.5.9,POST_2.0.1

new opb patch is:

patch: 111179-04
