We are experiencing intermittent dificulties with an invoice report that gives us an "invalid TLV record" error. A Logo was added to the form and saved as a new form. After a time period users start getting this error message and cannot print the invoice. I then re-save the document everythiong is fine for a time period and then it happens again. The form is a copy of one form with a logo added to it. Using ACCPAC 5.4A in SQL. How do I correct this problem so that the invoice form can be printed.

Any idea on what would be causing the corruption.

It's a Crystal report message. I have a client with the same intermittent issue. I suspect that the workstation has multiple Crystal engines and for whatever reason one of the engines isn't reading the report properly.

It's an internal part of Crystal reports, it has no other meaning outside of Crystal. Whenever you see that error, you restore the RPT from backup.

Please help. I have the same issue. For no apparent reason, I am no longer able to print any Crystal reports. I have re-installed Crystal 11 and then Crystal 2008, but the error message remains.

The application I am running is Accpac ERP 5.5. Many of the reports are standard but there are also some customised reports. None of them work.

Note that this error only occurs on the server, not from any workstations.

Any other suggestions please? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Etienne - I know you will have a solution for me?? Help!!

What is the operating system that you're using?
Accpac product update number?
Terminal server or directly logging on to the console?

No not terminal server. Windows 2003 R2. Error when running ANY Accpac reports:

"Description: Crystal Reports Error: C:\Program Files\ACCPAC\gl55A\ENG\glbtch01.RPT--Invalid TLV record."

Doesn't occur on workstations.

Thanks in advance.

Invalid TLV errors normally indicate a corrupted Crystal report file. Reinstalling any version of Crystal Reports will not fix it. I'm assuming that you have local Accpac installs on each computer, so you are not sharing the report files - the point being is that you don't know if the reports on the server actually work or not.
Next question: did you run web deployment and/or install Crystal Web Reporting on the server?

This is a long shot, but worth a try:
One the server:
1. Delete C:\Windows\System32\CRPE32.DLL
2. Delete the C:\Windows\Crystal folder
3. Delete the C:\Program Files\Business Objects folder
4. Delete the C:\Program Files\Seagate Software folder

Reinstall Accpac System Manager using the Repair option, this should replace all of the items deleted above.
If you installed Crystal Web Reporting then you need to reinstall that as well, and reinstall Crystal Reports only if you need to edit reports on the server.

Hi Etienne
Many thanks indeed. This solution worked a treat. I suspect the problem arose because of multiple versions of Crystal being installed on the same server.

Your input is much appreciated.
