Hello,

I was trying to backup some Windows 2k servers from our Novell Arcserve 7 backup system. It will backup the server fine, but when I try a restore it says that I have an invalid session password. I didn't put any password on the session. Does anybody know a fix for this?

Thanks

I am having the same problem. I am running ArcServe on a Win2k Professional box and backing up a Win2k Server. I cannot restore any data b/c it says "Error 3814: Invalid Session Password". However, I did not enter a session password when the backup job was created. Niners, did you find a solution to this problem? Can anyone else provide insight?

When submitting the restore job, use the Edit button on the Security page to modify the login parameters:
Context:
password:
IPX Address:

Give this a try.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem.
I'm running ArcServe v7 build 218 on Netware and restores to NT/W2K boxes fail on the session password while none is used.
Currently I'm working with CA to get this solved.

Did you have any sollutions sofar?

I'll post anything usefull that I find out.

Hi again...
I got a sollution from CA that worked sofar for me.
See below for the details...

One Question to this patch I'm trying to get clear from CA is the fact that older NW modules are now loaded than our current patchlevel. What will happen if we patch the system which overwrites these modules again?.

Sadly the patch info was an Internal CA distribution only so none of us was able to find this info ourselves so it seems.

Anyways this patch worked for me :)

Contact CA and ask them to send the patch.
(There's an FTP link in the details, but the patch isn't there anymore :( )
