Hello,
Is anyone aware of a patch to fix subtotal errors in Excel 2002?
I have a spreadsheet with columns (left to right):
Region, TerrNo, RepName, Distributor, Customer, Jan-Dec totals. The first 5 columns are text, and are sorted in ascending order, starting with Region. The last columns are currency. I am inserting multiple levels of subtotals. I start with Region and SUM the currency fields (the Summary below data box is checked). Works fine. I then do another subtotal using TerrNo, SUM the currency fields (uncheck the Replace current subtotals box). Works fine UP UNTIL THE LAST 2 REGIONS. It places the TerrNo total of the last TerrNo with that Region AFTER the Region Total. What's peculiar about that 2nd to last Region is, there's only one TerrNo within that Region, so I wonder if that's throwing it off. However, I emailed the raw file to a friend who has Excel 2000, and his subtotals worked file (even a 3rd one he added for by by Distributor).
Is this a known problem? Do I need a patch, or do I need to reinstall my Excel? This just doesn't seem right. Thanks for your help.
