Invalid directory...

Hello...

I am getting this message when setting up a Domino 6 server on a Solaris machine.

"Invalid directory name or device not ready"

We have 2 other domino servers, which are version 5 and are both Intel based. I did register this new server and gave it the server id using a floppy.

When asking which server to replicate system databases for I gave it the name of one of our existing servers.

Does this message mean it cannot contact that server? Or is something else wrong?

I can ping the other server fine.

hi, ping only check the network interface. Try to use other commands for example rcp ftp u other.
Also check the /.rhosts or /etc/hosts.equiv
these files give the access or denied it.
