auto-attendant feature is working, but, if a user enters an invalid entry, the system will replay the prompt/gteeting. Upon the third failed attempt, the system says goodbye and hangs up.

Instead of hanging up, i want to divert to a ddi number instead, how do i do it? is the number of attempts controllable?

thanks

I don't know any way to control the number of attempts or where it transfers to except the 'timeout' on the bottom of the page could take it to the operator or were ever, but not after a number of attempts.
Do u have vectors?

Da-vi'do

P.S. For the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Be aware that if u don't answer a question, I usually will not continue to help u. Please leave a post on how u fixed the problem too.

Yes, if a user does not make an entry or makes one or two failed attempts and then makes no entry, the system will transfer to the timeout location. But if the user makes three mistakes, they get dropped.

yes, i have vectors.

i have used a vector "route to" command to go to the audix auto attendant. Would the "messaging" vector command make a difference?

If you're using vectors and a VDN to send the call to the Audix, try putting an extension in the 'Return destination' field of the VDN.

The system should send the call to the new destination after it's dropped from Audix.

I'm not sure how that might affect the transfer of the normal call completions though. It might end up sending all calls to the return destination during the transfer attempt. Be sure to test.

no, "return dest on the VDN" only used with timed ACW for agents.

any other suggestions?

Isn't there a 'names attdt' available in the Vectors that might be more flexible than the INtuity? I can't seem to find it in my documentation, but I thought there was in the newer loads.

I'm not sure what your source is for the use of return destination, but here's what the book says.

I think it's exactly what you want:

VDN Return Destination — Allows an incoming trunk call to be placed back in vector processing after all parties, except the originator, drop.

It doesn't mention timed ACW.
