intuity upgrade and backup

We are upgrading our intuity to 5.1.53 to prepare for the new dst rules. The intuity takes 3 hours to do a backup whitch it does every morning finishing around 6am. I will start the upgrade at 7am. Do I have to do another backup per the upgrade instrucations at 7am. I am tring to avoid having the system down for 4 hours.

yes we do.

you should be ok with the back up, but do you also do a back up to an off site location?

we keep a copy offsite that we change out about once a month
