I've never worked with an LX. This has a web interface unlike the intuity audix I have elsewhere that just has a terminal connected to it and ASA. To do a shutdown of the LX is this done right from the web interface? Also, if there is no physical terminal/keyboard connected to the LX will there be an issue with the powerup? If all there is to look at is the web interface.. i'm assuming you'll have to wait until the system is fully back up to be able to login? Any help is appreciated.

You're right on most of your assumptions. The web interface is used for just about everything settings-wise. Subscriber administration is still done on the CLI. You can setup your ASA to connect to the LX so you don't have to log in to the web interface every time. You don't have to wait for the box to complete start up to log back in. It runs a normal linux OS, so the web service is started before most services. You'll be able to log in before the voice system is started. There shouldn't be any problems restarting the system. It's just a PC, you can connect a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the box if you want to watch it restart.

thanks! I did verify it is connected to a kvs so the keyboard/monitor issue isn't an issue. I should remove the CD out of the drive before powering back up?

Depends. If it's the software installation CD then definitely yes. If it's the nightly backup CD then no you can leave it in the drive.

Can you run an LX backup during production hours? A message comes up mentioning running this while the voice system is up can cause issues.

you mentioned you can still connect to the Intuity LX via ASA but when I tried it wouldnt allow me to. It actually said I needed to use the web interface to connect. How do u get it to connect via ASA?/

prflash, make an ASA record under a VM system, use the IP address/port 22/SSH, it will connect no problem. Usually best to use the "vm" login, as it goes directly to audix admninistration (can't do anything else with it). This also works for the IA770/CMM the same way...

Hey that worked. I went and logged into the web interface and saw 3 more logins. you can login with the vm and sa but not the craft or the dadmin. Kool. Learn something new everyday.
