Is it possible to manage an Intuity LX system from ASA. I can add a voice system and I can choose Emulation but I cannot seem to connect. First does this work on an LX machine and secondly how do I determine what IP address I would use for this connection?

Thanks.

Unles you have Avaya open port 23 for you, or you are accessing a dial-up modem, you have to use a web browser. Enter the IP address of the LX.

Ok, maybe I'll give them a call. I hate using the web browser because 90% of the time I want to get to management which then requires you to log in 2 seperate times unless someone knows of a way around that.

You can't access an Intuity LX using the sa password only the vm password via ASA.

I have done this with ASA using VM as the log in and port 23 when on site. You can also do it remotely by just dialing into the modem and logging on as VM

No this worked from the box. When on site you need to add a messaging system on ASA and use the IP address of the LX as defined in the TCIP/IP Administration / Network addressing.

When accessing remote you add a messaging system as a modem type dial up to ASA and just call the modem on the LX. It answers and gives you a login prompt. You then login as VM (having already set the password etc previously)
