Intuity Fax server - announcement problem

I'm trying to setup a few fax numbers for different departments. I've configured the extension to be an Xport, and a mailbox with a different number. Under the secondary Ext I have the extension number for the DID.

The problem is when you dial the number, I receive a message saying "Fax extensionn for *** Press start on your fax machine now " then I get the fax beeps.

If I send a fax from a phone/fax all works fine, but if I send it from a fax machine which is expecting the Beeps as soon as the call is answered I receive an error. No response.

Is there any way to remove the message at the start of call ?

The extension will only be used for Fax calls.

I forgot to mention that you'll find more on this on the CD or somewhere else on the site I gave you.

You need to remove the fragment using a phone if remember correctly.

I've checked the URL you mentioned, but the we're using the British announcement set, so the announcement number and fragment are different from the US-English one.

I've searched the Avaya website but could be here all year !

There's also very little on the CD with regards to detailed listings of the announcements.

From the language CD I managed to obtain the fragment number and announcement numbers for the fax message (edit the files under word). If you need them for British-English it’s :

A991 which includes F1183 - Press start on your fax machine now
A1001 which includes F1274 - Fax extension (extn)

Removed the above announcements, and now when you dial the DID you receive a Fax tone with no announcement.

A couple of areas where I stumbled on -

To listen to the announcements before you delete them, which is always wise! Configure the mailbox to have announcement control. Dial into Audix, once in select option 9 and then 2 for fragments and 3 for announcements. You will be prompted to enter an announcement set, enter british (2748475) then when prompted enter the announcement or fragment number.

To remove announcement (because you can always recreate announcements) first set the system feature options to british under the administrative option (page 3). This will allow you to view and remove announcements.

Finally remove the announcement.

I would use extreme caution as removing announcements will take place immediately, and removing the wrong one will require it to be re-created. Removing fragments will mean a restore if you need to get it back, unless you want to use your own voice !!
