Intuity Fax Mailbox

Is there a way to make a mailbox only accept faxes? My boss has a DID line that is just for his faxes which is covered to the Intuity but he keeps getting voice messages in there. Also, can it start polling immediately instead of playing a greeting?

Let me know if you figure it out, 'cause I never did either - especially the greeting. The only thing I came up with for that was to record one second of silence, but it still didn't address the issue of voice messages in the mailbox.

I did the same thing for the greeting.

I believe if you are using Audix you can define the 'secondary extension' field on the users primary mailbox and the secondary extension will only accept faxes.

You'll have to select a mailbox that isn't being used to put in the secondary extension field though.

This has the added benefit of lighting the mailbox light on the phone when messages are left on either extension.

The greeting on that voicemail will just be "Fax Extension For (recorded name). Press send on your fax machine now"

I'm not certain if this is the same for all versions.
