hello colleagues,

disposition is such: there's s8710 with cm 3.0.1 and intuity audix lx 1.1 tied to it. customer runs weekly morning meetings via emmc and wants to record these meetings and make recordings available for outside people (provided that outside people know some pin code). the solution i've came up is to have some assistant use audix one-step recording, then forward this recording to another mailbox which is publicly available via did number or manual transfer. the problem is, i think this solution is a bit overloaded. i have a feeling there should be something simplier and easier.
anyone's thoughts? :)

What about an annoucment being recorded at the meeting and a vector that has the same front-end as a Meet-Me conference (to do your PIN Code) and then instead of adding the person to a conference, play the annoucement.

That seems like a good idea, if only you can trust the person recording to dial the correct announcement and not overwrite the incorrect one. I guess setting the 'protected' flag would solve this, though.

phoneguy55,

thanks but i think your solution is even more complicated than mine. :)) i can't get rid of a feeling that i miss something sitting right here just under my eye, something simple. there should be a way to do this without much effort. does nobody record their weekly staff meetings? :))

cmeyer,
84Mike,

uhm... i thought about this but i'm afraid these meetings can be longer than an hour and i don't know any way to continue an announcement on second board after filling up first one. anyway, don't you think it's a bit overkill? :)
the last my thought was: set up a subscriber on intuity as usual, then add a vector that would ask for some pin code and if passed, route to intuity hunt group, dial the subscriber number and access code and... the problem is, i don't know how to make intuity play back the same message time after time, just like it's always new and do not require caller to press any buttons on his phone. and i can't think up a way to record messages directly to this public subscriber's mail box.
*sigh*

I don't have intuity, I have MM, but just out of curiosity...how long can a greeting be on a voicemail box? Dial into the mailbox, record meeting as greeting...then when call os transferred there, they hear recording. Probably not practical, but a thought.

I would be cautious of that much recording using an announcement board. If it's a heavily used board with an appreciable amount of announcements it can be disruptive to the other announcements that are used during the course of normal business. An external recording device (per Phoneguy55's suggestion) would be more suited. The file could then be transfered to a PC and converted to WAV or, preferrably, MP3 (with an 11 to 1 compresion ratio MP3 makes more sense) and then emailed to others.

Why not use your vector to the Intuity as you thought, but set the subscriber up as a bulletin board that should only play back a message same an auto attendant. Don't know if I want an hour long message in my Voicemail system, but at least it is only recorded once vs emailing everyone I chould have that file on my mail server 50 times bogging that system down even more.

cmeyer,

i did read docs but got that bulletin board can play only pre-recorded greetings not messages put in the mail box. is it possible to create some kind of "broadcasting" mail box or something alike? i'm not an intuity expert and the documentations is somewhat complicated and unclear. :(

Outside of using full-blown call recording solution, you may already be using the best solution available via your phone system.

Is there anything preventing you from using an alternate recording source (outside of your voice system) and packaging the recording as an MP3 or other audio file? This would allow you to possibly distribute the recording via email or streaming media (website). Another option would be to convert the audio file and load it as an announcement using VAL manager to a dedicated number.
