Is the use of DECODE part of the test? And if so, how much detail is covered?

I don't know, but you would probably get a better response in the "Oracle Certification and Testing" forum!

I'm not sure I would call it "great", but it IS very useful - it allows you to code an in-line IF-THEN-ELSE logic in your SQL.
As to the original question - I believe it IS in the OCP exam, but I would guess you will only see one question about it.

DECODE :-( the statement from hell....... (I don't like it much, but I hide it well -- don't you think?) Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

Mike - I would have never known if you hadn't pointed it out!!
