I just had an interview this afternoon that went well. The I.T. Director wants to see my MS transcript to verify the certifications that I have obtained. The problem here is that on my resume I only listed 70-270, 70-290, and A+. However, I have an MCSE in NT 4.0. I didn’t include it on my resume; because I feel it is obsolete and does not pertain to the environment which is Windows 2000/2003, and XP. Also, the vast majority of my work experience is not in NT. Does anyone think the IT Director may look at this as a negative? This was the second interview and it is down to me and another person. Am I just being paranoid?

Thanks Everyone,
John

I have interviewed numerous condidates in my time, read a few resumes, made a few hiring recomends, and decisions. In my judgement, the degree only made a difference if followed by some real world accomplishments, unless all the other candidates had never done anything in the real world either. The statistics show no greater performance ratings on degreed candidates, than non-degree candidates. In fact experience is a much better predictor of success by far, even as little as one year experience from my persoanl point of view.

This may not be "conventional thinking" but is my personal experience. The thing is, I often consider "conventional thinking" an excuse for not thinking in the first place.
