I have an interview coming up and I will be asked about my experience with writing scripts and batch files. I have limited experience writing simple batch files (in MS-DOS), and have only read about some of the scripts used to install images.

Can somebody offer some help about how I can answer this question (without stretching the truth too much)? Or, can someone name a few very common script types and uses? Maybe name a publication that I can mention that I have access to that offers information in this area?

The position is for HelpDesk/Deskside Support and I generally have good credentials in those types of support, but I have never been asked to write a script.

The company is a Microsoft shop, and I am also expected to have experience with editing and creating web pages, which I have done.

Help!

Given the background and type of company you mention, I would would assume the scripts referred to are VBscript scripts.

Perhaps you may want to try the forum329 for more info on such scripts.

They aren't to difficult perhaps trying to brush up on them may be a good idea.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Thanks for the VB Script info.

I had a question about where to creat a doamin logon script. Is that done solely through Active Directort or can it be done using an MMC?

Have a look at Group Policy, both Computer Configuration, and User Configuration, under Windows Settings/ Scripts.
