I understand how to stop the autoadminlogon using regedit, but how can you change the registery when the autoadminlogon is not an adminstrator and does not have rights to change the registery?

log off and log on as administrator? Or give the auto account permissions?

Don't really understand what you are trying to do - either the account does or doesn't have permissions to edit the registry (so just set it which way you want). The fact its set to auto logon doesn't stop you logging out and logging on with different credentials (hold down shift key as you log out to give you logon prompt if its immediately auto logging back on).

Thanks for the shift key hint. That was the problem. I did not know how to force a logon prompt and prevent the autologon from kicking back in during a logout. I'll give it a try tomorrow when I'm back at work.

Thanks
Paul

If you cannot by all means login as administrator, go to another computer on the network, make a connection to the affected pc via IPC$, start regedt32, close the current pc's registry (Registry - close) and connect to the remote computer (Registry - select computer). You can now alter all that you want.

Shadow.

Good idea Shadow. I was able to force a logon prompt via the Shift Key hint. There is most always more than 1 way to do a task. I'll keep your hint in mind for the times the shift key isn't the trick.

Thanks Again,
Paul
