hi all,

I'm troubleshooting an Intertel system for a customer (I'm primarily an Avaya guy) and have run in to a blockade...

The customer wants us to enable the music on hold feature for their Intertel Eclipse phone system (which they claim once worked). I've verified that the music on hold device is outputting audio to the jack, but don;t see anywhere in the administrator programming to enable this port.

I'm wondering if it's just blown - I know this happens on the PARTNER ACS from time to time.

Any suggestions are most appreciated!

Try putting in feature code 313 from a phone and see if you hear background music coming out of the speaker.

Did someone adjust a potentiometer someplace, or is there possibly one that's gone dirty? Some of the smaller systems I've fooled with have a level adjustment for the music someplace - if there's one, fiddle with it.

Thanks Jeff and Don... I tried feature code 313 to no avail - the display says MUSIC ON/OFF but no audio. I also looked for obvious level adjustments on the modules in and around the chassis but didn't see anything that looked like it would help.
