Interrupting a call sent to Voice Mail

Is there any way to interrupt a call that has been sent to voice mail in a Key System? I think all I have to do is change privacy for the VM ports, but I have no idea how to physically go about it (what are the steps?).

In a Merlin, the privacy is set upon each reboot. Simply pickup the line in use. This will steal the call from the voicemail.

I have tried to pickup the line and it does not let me. How do you take privacy off for the VM lines?
