Internet traffic very slow

Ever since we had the IOS firewall feature set installed on our 2600, our access to the internet has slowed down greatly.
Can someone please help me to explain this

Since the IOS firewall feature set is a 'bigger' image, probably you are running out of resources. Try increasing the memory. Do a 'show proc' and study it carefully.

Ofcourse go back to the old image if indeed the new image is causing trouble or there is something else to it.
