Hello all

Two of our users here get prompted for their domain password when accessing any internet page (intranet pages are OK). The server prompting their password is the proxy server which should just accept passthrough authentication.

Once they've entered their correct password they'll be fine in that session of Internet Explorer but if they close it and restart IE, or run another instance of IE, they'll get prompted for their password again.

At some point in the past when they've been prompted they've entered their current domain password then selected 'Remember my password'. The latest user changed her domain password yesterday and it was only from then that she started getting prompted for her password.

So, somewhere there is a setting, probably in her HKCU, that is set to user her last password even though she now leaves the 'Remember my password' checkbox cleared when she correctly enters her current password.

Does anyone have any ideas where we can clear this reference to her old password from?

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Content Tab > AutoComplete

That is where you can clear that stuff out.

That didn't work. I should clarify, the prompts aren't being produced by web forms which are what I would expect to see cleared by the method suggested above but instead are produced by Windows...
