I am curious if there is a way I can prevent variuos internet sites from changing my search engine preference on my desktop. I am running win2k prof. Whenever I perform a search on the web using MSN my searches gets redirected to xupiter."xupiter" not a good engine by the way.

You may have to use a program like Ad-aware or Spybot to get rid of Xupiter.

'xupiter' Has a file in 'C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files'
You can delete it ; That may help you use the 'engine' You prefur.
Also check all your 'program files' the and 'ADD/REMOVE'.

I was able to get totaly rid of it that way.

[2thumbsup]

PS: Also remember it's illegal for anything tobe placed on your computer, you don't give permisions too.
'xupiter' maybe place their program inside anther to get that permision; That's illegal too.
