My ISP blocks port 25, is there any way I can set up my "Default SMTP Server" for port 24? I'm currently using a mailhop service from dyndns.org to relay messages using port 24. I can send emails, but not receive. However, when I assigne "Default SMTP Server" to port 24 "Internet Mail Wizard" generated this error message

"The SMTP virtual server ‘Default SMTP Virtual Server’ on the selected server does not have the binding of all unassigned/port 25.
"

I'm stumped! :(

I found this on the microsoft knowledgebase ( ).. but only confirmed that editing default SMTP server will generate this error. I can't even creat another virtual server because it will cause the same error. I would love to receive mail :( any suggestions?

Thanks!

Call your ISP and have them open 25. Your paying for the service.

If they refuse change ISP's

Try going to the Exchange System Manager -> Servers -> yourservername -> Protocols -> SMTP -> Default SMTP Virtual Server -> Properties -> General -> Advanced -> Edit.
There you can change your port number, alternatively you can set up an additional SMTP Virtual Server and let all the mail flow through that one.
