Internet Mail Service Problem

Hi experiencing a weird problem with outgoing email.
Anything sent automatically goes into the outbound messages awaiting delivery queue with a description that says 'host unreachable' and will attempt again in 15 minutes. If you select retry now the email will then be sent.

Any ideas??

I would look at me dns server if you have one.
Try ”nslookup” with “set type=mx” to see if the server is getting the mx record to the server to sent sounds like its timing out so after you retry it works.

Hi - yeah that works fine. I can do an nslookup on all that get queued up. 'tis most annoying

ps we dont have our own dns server - all done via ISP
