Internet from two NIC 1

Hi,

I have two internet connections:
1-From a LAN provider (Fixed ip address and uses proxy to connect)connected on NIC1.
2-ADSL from an ISP with direct connection and fixed IP, connected on NIC2.

The proxied connection is very fast but with some restrictions. The ADSL is not that fast but it has no restriction.

What i want is the following:
I need to browse using the ADSL connection and download using the LAN's one. Since the later uses proxy, i can configure my download manager to use it.

The problem is, that i'm able to use one connection at a time. I know that in windows (winxp pro) there is only one default gateway configured to be configured in the routing table. So, how can i configure my system or routing table in order to enable the usage of both connections?

By using the command "route print" i see that both gateways of the connections exist in the table.

Increase the metric of the default route for the LAN connection to use the ADSL connection for browsing.

Well Serbtastic, if i increase the metric of the defaut route for the LAN connection, ADSL wont work!

As i read, windows sends packets to the default gateway with the lowest metric in priority. In case of failure, it will send it to the next default gateway with the next higher metric.

Why won't it work? Have you tried? Increasing the metric value for the default route for the LAN connection will give priority to the default route for the ADSL connection, and will allow all internet connections to proceed on the ADSL connection.
