Internet Explorer with Windows XP. Images do not open automatically. 1

For some reason, the images within Internet Explorer no longer open on web pages. I have to right click on the image and select open image.
There was no problem a few days ago and gif images opened automatically without a problem. I have not changed any settings and cannot see anything amiss in the settings within Explorer.

eg. The forum bar, the keyword search, the FAQbar & the link images on this Tektip website has to be opened manually by the method described above. Have tried rebooting to no avail. I'm sure it is something pretty straightforward but I cannot find it.

Any ideas?

While you're in Internet Explorer...choose Tools/internet options/advanced and scroll down to the multimedia section and check the box to show pictures...
