I have an IE 6, I can get access to internet but get the "Run time Syntax error" all the time and have to click "OK" to continue all the time.Any thoughts there? Thanks

What OS are you running?

What sites are you visiting when you get this? Is it all sites, or just some (e.g. is it only sites with Flash content, etc)?

Have you run a virus scan and/or spyware scan?

Is your PC fully patched?

Hi Dan,

it happened to all sites, OS is XP.....re-ghosted machine, still got this error, clicked OK on error then I can continue.

Do you have multiple versions of IE installed?

Do you have any add-ons for IE installed, such as the MS developer toolbar, or any other 3rd party toolbars?

Do you have any internet security software (Norton, Symtantec, etc) installed?

Is the error you're seeing "Runtime syntax error" with no other details, presumably popping up in a dialog box when you try to visit any page?

I am experiencing the exact same issue. The error box that pops up says:
A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?
Line: 2
Error: Syntax Error

The only variable has been the line number. Occassionally I'll see something more specific to a website page name when I visit certain sites like weather.com. I noticed it last week after I upgrade my MS Office package from 97 to XP. I've reloaded IE6 SP1 already. Uninstalling Google Toolbar lessened the frequency of error messages for a couple hours. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional.
