I would greatly appreciate any help readers here could provide. I am not an IT professional, but I did a search in google and wound up in this forum.

When I run internet explorer, it randomly will go to the previous page I was viewing. I is as if I had pressed the back button.

I am running XP Pro with service pack 2 installed.

I have norton antivirus, microsoft anti-spyware, spy subtract, ewido, adaware, hijackthis, iefix. I update all of these with the latest definitions. I followed the instructions posted on

Unfortunately, I can't find anything that can fix the problem.

I will reply to this post and paste the log from hijack this. Thanks for any help.

Are you accidentally catching the backspace button on your keyboard? This causes the same effect

Thanks for the reply. I am honestly open to any possibilities at this point.

I have tested this by not pressing any keys on the keyboard--only using the mouse to click a bookmark. The same outcome happens. The timing appears to be random.
