Hi, I recently had some problems with connecting to the internet via wireless, however thats all sorted now and ive installed norton 2008. NOW when im online.. for example..playing bingo i lose my connection to the chat rooms every few mins and recently ive been downloading some stuff and it just stops...i tried disabling my firewall to see if the issue was with that but the same problems are occuring. I assume with these things the Internet Explorer should refresh the page periodically ??? but that doesnt appear to be happening. Any help and how to try and resolve this small but annoying problems would be great. Thanks xx

Two things come to mind:

1.) wireless service is set to cut power every 3 min or so... this is unfortunately a design problem...

fix: Wireless Zero Shutdown

2.) NORTON... Norton has been known to cause lots of distress in lots of systems...

Suggestion: Deinstall, Clean with the AntiNorton Tool from symantec, and install a less resource hogging AntiViral and Firewall software...

Thank you. I'll try the Zero shut down download first. If that doesnt work, I'll consider removing Norton.

Go into device Manager and find your Network adapter. Look at "properties", and see if you have a tab that says "Power". If so, make sure that "Let the computer turn off this device to save power" is NOT checked.

Micker377 - thanx, forgot about that one... glad you reminded us...

Thank you all for your help. I cant find the power tab in my device manager though so havent yet been able to check the settings. I'm sure if seen it somewhere before so I'll keep looking.
