My Internet Explorer has never done this, and just started yesterday. After I load up a website, any website, I still see the green bar full (for loading pages) on the bottom for about 10 seconds and then i can click something and move around the page. This happens with every page.

I have just recently installed a BEFW11S4 router last week, but even with the router this didn't happen. I have changed around the cookie-settings to Medium Low from Medium-High to see if that would work, still doesn't work.

I thought it was Zone Alarm for a second, but i've had that for a long time. I used SpyBot and AdAware to delete all the spyware my computer had collected in the past week, and then i deleted all the cookies and other files that I had downloaded yesterday, and it still doesn't work. This happened yesterday night.

Thank you.

hmm... i'm sorry, that link didn't help at all

its not a blank page thats popping up, its just lagging for like 10-20 seconds every single website i browse to. It's now really angering me, I have DSL and my machine and the page loads fast but the thing just lags and pauses with the site up for like 20 seconds until i can click anything on it.

i went into advanced settings of IE and changed a few things, didn't work, I set IE to automatically detect settings, then to not automatically detect settings and both ways was the same.

I restarted the computer, this is really weird and angering, because you see yesterday it was fine until about 7-8 pm. After i left the computer for a bit and came back, it was slow and laggy.

Thanks for that page though, im going to keep trying everything on that part anyways and see what it does.

i can describe it more as a FREEZE. After the HTML in a webpage loads up, i see at 10-15 second freeze with the little green bar in the corner of IE filled to the max. This freeze happens any time i click a link, any link, for example right after i send this message, and the next page loads up, IE will freeze for 10-15 seconds and then i can move the page around.

thanks

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck the boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs (two boxes).

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off."

If that stops your errors, you will know where the trouble is.

This article and the program BHOcop might be useful to you.

okay thank you

right now im using the Real One Player explorer, and my internet is working perfectly fine, so I at least KNOW now that its Internet Explorer, i'll try those tips

Whoa now! I did that, and now i've never seen a faster internet explorer ever!! Except now I have no google bar, oh well big woop. YAY

thanks alot

Google will come back when you "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions", so will your other problems if you don't remove the other third party BHO's from your machine.

If your antivirus software is scanning java applets, tell it not to. An exclusion should be made for *.js files, as this can slow your system terribly.

Make sure when using AdAware and SpyBot that you are absolutely current on the definition files. February 2004 has been absolutely brutal on the internet. See faq608-4650 for links.

Just a suggestion. But have you tried a system restore progressing backwards until the problem goes away?

Time flies when you don't know what you're doing...
